Local Eats | Buffalo, NY
After spending over a month in a hotel in Buffalo between last spring and this fall, we got a good taste of what the restaurant life is like there. I am a big fan of change, so we rarely visited the same restaurant twice. Most restaurants we visited were budget friendly (eating out every meal can add up) and baby friendly, because we always had Everly with us. I have compiled a list of the ones that we loved and a highlight from each of their menus, just in case you are ever visiting the area and need a good suggestion!
Grilled Salmon, Pepperoni Classica Pizza, Grilled Chicken with Sun-Dried Tomato Goat Cheese
Bravo! is an Italian chain restaurant that is decorated to make you think you're in Tuscany. They even have a "patio" even though they are inside the mall. Although it is not authentic Italian, the food is still very good.
Buffalo Calamari, Sirloin Steak Salad, Black & Blue Steak, Sweet Potato Fries, Caesar Salad
I'm told this is a neighborhood staple as it has been around for 35 years! My friend's mom said she used to go while she was in College. The decor has been updated and has a modern/romantic/cozy feel to it. Love the ambiance and the food was amazing!
Wonton Nachos, Classic Chopped Salad, Bruschetta Chicken, Gastro Pub Burger
A chain restaurant that also has its own brewery. We didn't try their beer, but I hear it is pretty good. The atmosphere is pretty standard, but the wonton nachos are to die for.
Salads, Chia Seed Pudding
My favorite place in Buffalo! This was my go-to for most lunches as you can build your own salads. Fresh ingredients, lots of choices and the salads are huge! You can create your own or choose from their list of options.
Sweet Jane, Green Eyed Lady
Hands down best smoothies I have ever had. They use a Vitamix so they are thick and smooth and they use loads of healthy ingredients and they taste great!
Proper Porridge, Irish Peasant Pancakes
Great breakfast spot, some shared seating with big tables and window bar seating. Had the feel of a little bookstore coffee shop.
Buffalo Chicken Blasts, Avocado Spring Rolls, Calamari, Falafel Salad, Vegan Cobb Salad, Super Crispy Chicken Sandwich, Smokehouse BBQ Burger, Spicy Chicken Chipotle Pasta
This is where we go when we are hungry! The menu is huge along with the portions, and the food never disappoints.
Breakfast Scramble, Greek Grilled Chicken Salad, Zinger Juice
Small place with limited seating but great menu and fresh juices.
Stuffed Pepper Risotto Sticks, Arugula and Strawberry Salad, Spaghetti & Meatballs
Low key Italian pub with both classic Italian dishes and some with a unique spin. The tables were kind of crowded and the menu isn't huge, but the food was great and the starter bread was so fresh!
Buffalo Chicken Nachos, Mediterranean Salad, Chocolate Bar Pasta, Oreo Mud
I really liked this place. It has two floors, the main floor had the bar and was more lively and the upstairs was quieter and cozier. The food was really good and there was lots of chocolate on the menu!
I don't remember what we ordered here, but I remember loving it! This place was packed when we got there which we took as a good sign. They start you with chips and salsa and the place is colorful and fun and the food is authentic Mexican!
Calamari, Marinated Tomato & Green Bean Salad with Chickpea Chole Burger, Salmon B.L.T. Burger
Smaller place with bar stools and high top tables. Filled with an after work crowd having brews and burgers. Good food with no fuss.
Carnitas Con Huevos, Veggie Hash, Charlie's Breakfast Burrito
Great breakfast/brunch spot! Went here when my entire family was in town and everyone loved their meals!
Peanut Butter & Jelly, Chocolate Bavarian, Cheese, Red Velvet, Key Lime, Plain Cruller
Best donuts I have EVER had. This literally became mine and Jason's guilty pleasure in Buffalo!
Sometimes I feel like we have tried every restaurant there is! These are just a few of our top picks (and ones I remember). If you are ever in Buffalo and need somewhere to eat, none of these will disappoint!
