Basement Renovation - Carpet

I know it's always a big basement debate - carpet or hardwood (or other hard flooring option). We knew from the beginning that we wanted carpet. We wanted to create a cozy space for our girls to play, and we knew carpet was the best way to do that. The next step was to find a carpet that still looked stylish and kept the space elevated. We went to The Floor Show for their large selection of flooring and expertise and found the PERFECT carpet.

I wanted something with a pattern in it to bring a design element to the basement. We have the Escape to Bali line in our bedrooms upstairs and I love it, but they didn't have the color I was envisioning. Nikki Holm at The Floor Show helped me pull similar samples to find the exact color I was looking for. We decided on the Dreamweaver Oxford carpet in color Canteberry. I LOVE this carpet. It comes in so many colors and the pattern is just enough for you to notice, but not too busy. We have gotten so many compliments on it already. It takes an otherwise boring element (carpet), and makes it a showpiece. It's also very plush, which makes the basement super cozy. We also went with a Stainmaster Underpad to help with any future spills that may occur #kids, which also helps it feel so soft to walk on.

The Floor Show delivered and installed the carpet, making the whole process seamless, literally. You can't see where the carpet seams are at all, they did such a great job of measuring and laying the carpet. We also have a small wet bar area that was tiled with in-floor heat, and they made sure to ramp up the carpet so it was flush with the tile. We also wanted to carpet the stairs, because again, kids. It just felt safer. I LOVE how they look. We decided to keep the sides wood, and just carpet the inside of the stairs. It's such a clean look. I can't say enough good things about our experience with The Floor Show. Get in contact with Nikki Holm to book an appointment today! They carry all kinds of carpet, luxury vinyl plank, tile, hardwood, laminate, hydro cork and sheet vinyl. You can use code STACEY15 to save 15% off of your order.

Best,

Stacey

This was a chill read—nothing felt padded out, and I didn’t have to keep scrolling back up to figure out what you meant. The way it slips in quick everyday examples helped a lot, and I liked that it actually explains the reasoning instead of just tossing out “do this, do that.” I also wandered over to newimage.io in the middle of it because it gave me the same kind of straightforward, guide-y vibe when you want a bit more detail. What really made it easy to stick with was how the info was broken up into short chunks, so you can skim and still catch the important parts. The headings were super clear and the paragraphs stayed short, which…

Choosing the right flooring can completely transform a basement, making it cozy and safe for family use. But before investing in carpet or any finish, it’s important to check for a crack in my foundation, as even minor foundation issues can worsen over time and affect the flooring installation. Ensuring the foundation is solid keeps your basement both beautiful and structurally sound.
